The New York State Public Employees Federation, AFL-CIO, a union representing 54,000 professional NYS employees, is seeking to fill the following Albany based position:

Health and Safety Assistant

Position Summary:
Acts as intake coordinator for technical information requests and responds to or refers them. Provides administrative support to the Statewide Health and Safety Committee, agency level health and safety committees and grant funded training programs. Responsible for organizational and operational aspects of Annual Health and Safety Conference. Responsible for day-to-day secretarial work in the department.

Qualifications
Minimum three years’ experience as departmental secretary or graduate of business or community college. Experience with computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access (including simple database design and management) and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Salary:
$40,970 + with excellent employer paid benefits. Incumbent maintains a hold on position until c.o.b. April 10, 2020.
