Research Analyst

Based in Silver Spring, MD


CPWR - The Center for Construction Research and Training (www.cpwr.com) is the non-profit 501(c) 3 research, development and training arm of the North America’s Building Trades Unions, located in downtown Silver Spring, MD by metro and public parking. We are seeking a fulltime Research Analyst.

CPWR is funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and is currently the NIOSH-supported National Construction Research Center, and is also funded by other federal government agencies in support of its construction industry research, service, and training programs.

Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing large national datasets.
  • Summarizing statistical results.
  • Preparing presentations and other graphical representations.
  • Drafting reports, briefs, and articles for publication and dissemination.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree with a quantitative emphasis such as epidemiology, public health, statistics, or other related field.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • The ability to organize work projects and complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical packages is required (SAS preferred).
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, is a plus.
  • Public health training or experience is highly desirable, as is knowledge of the construction industry.

Compensation Package:
