Campaign Attorney

The Communications Workers of America is seeking a Campaign Attorney in Washington, DC to support the union’s advocacy for universal broadband and accountable development of next generation wireless networks, including protections for workers’ rights in the wireless sector.

The Campaign Attorney conducts legal research and develops legal strategy in collaboration with legal, research, organizing and communications staff on a range of areas including municipal authority over wireless infrastructure, public-private partnership law and regulation, and employment/workplace issues.


  • Provide legal advice and review on strategies and tactics related to organizing and corporate responsibility campaigns
  • Research and develop new legal theories to advance worker and community protections
  • Advocate directly to regulators for enforcement action, policy reforms and rulemaking
  • Assist workers in their efforts to change their workplaces
  • Provide advice on the drafting legislation
  • Help develop public messaging of campaigns
  • Collaborate with outside counsel and other external allies


  • Law degree and at least two years of legal experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to economic and social justice and the labor movement
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Ability to drive ideas and manage initiatives
  • Bar admission in at least one state

Job Specifications

  • Salary range: $98,000 to $102,000 based on experience
  • This position is a confidential, non-bargaining unit position reporting directly to the CWA General Counsel.
