Retiree Organizer

Based in Hartford, CT

With over 12,000 members, CSEA Council 400 is the dominant voice for State of Connecticut Retirees. For decades Council 400 has fought to ensure that everyone has a secure retirement and to protect the benefits that our members have worked hard to earn.

The Retiree Organizer will work directly with our members to empower state retirees while building an engaged, informed, and effective organization, as well as helping with insurance and pension issues.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Execute the legislative and electoral plan of the council
  • Build membership engagement and participation
  • Coordinate the membership recruitment program of the council
  • Act as a resource for CSEA members on CT health and pension benefits
  • Organizational data entry
  • Attend membership meetings throughout the State of Connecticut


  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required
  • Dependable and strong work ethic. Willingness to work long and irregular hours
  • Commitment to empowering individuals in the fight for a secure retirement
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must possess a vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
