Work to unite immigrant workers to organize for rights and for a better life for their families and communities!
SEIU Healthcare 775NW is a fast-growing union committed to uniting the strength of long term care workers and improving the lives of working people.
Organizers help workers form, build, and grow our union; mobilize workers around issues and politics, develop worker leaders; and carry out the goals of the union.
While previous experience in union organizing is highly desirable, there is no hard and fast requirement for experience to start a career as an organizer. Experience with the following types of employers is highly significant: labor unions, progressive issue advocacy organizations, community organizations, political campaigns and elected officials. Very strong preference will be given to candidates who have completed the SEIU "Wave" training program or other formal training programs for organizers.
Women and people of color strongly encouraged to apply. Fluency in a second language is highly desired, particularly Korean, Chinese or Amharic.

REQUIREMENTS:
- A drivers' license, a car, and automobile insurance are requirements of this position.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are requirements of this position.
- Willingness to work long, irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
- Willingness to travel is a requirement.
- Strong personal planning and time management skills and ability to work with people from other cultures and backgrounds are also necessary skills.
- In addition, the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment are considered key components to achieving organizer performance standards.
SEIU Healthcare 775NW is committed to providing staff development opportunities and resources. It is recognized that the majority of an organizer's skill development happens through on through on the job experience.
Salary and benefits set by collectively bargained contract; range from High- $30Ks to $50Ks. Benefits include employer-paid health benefits & pension, generous leave package, car allowance, more.
