PROJECT MANAGER
SEIU POLICIES ON ETHICS AND STANDARDS

SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION (SEIU) the nation's fastest growing labor organization representing more than 2 million workers, is seeking a Project Manager for SEIU Policies on Ethics and Standards in its Washington, DC office.

This position assists the Ethics Ombudsperson in administering and implementing all aspects of the SEIU Policies on Ethics and Standards adopted by the SEIU International Executive Board. This is a one year term-limited position.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develops and implements operations, local union contact and tracking systems, training protocols, schedules and workplans. Recommends and implements process changes as necessary;
  • Develops and implements budget oversight and monitoring systems and procedures;
  • Develops necessary databases and other technology needs and innovations for the programs;
  • Assists with and oversees the development of materials for the ethics program union-wide; and
  • Performs other duties as required to support the implementation of the ethics initiative.

Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with administrative or management experience, coursework in accounting and/or management, and combination of education and experience that provides for the following knowledge, skills and abilities: <ul>

  • Strong organizational skills and administrative experience
  • Demonstrated ability to drive programs, particularly across departments
  • Demonstrated skill with IT as applied to database development and maintenance, tracking systems, research and online learning
  • Ability to manage multiple priority projects independently
  • Facility with financial reports, budgets and basic accounting methods
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with sensitive political and organizational situations
  • Passion for justice for workers
  • Familiarity with labor unions preferred
