CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER SEIU JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Chief Financial Officer Grade: Mgmt. 6 Purpose: This position, as a member of the Senior Operations Team, is responsible for the formulation and execution of the Union’s financial management, budget, strategic planning, and financial information integrity, including the Union’s financial management policies, procedures and systems. Oversees the accounting and asset management functions, including cash, credit and debt management, annual budget preparation, analysis of budget and financial trends, financial reporting and the development and implementation of strategies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contacts: Include SEIU staff and officers, employer representatives and other officials and experts on financial issues. Direction and Decision Making: This position reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Finance and works independently with a wide range of latitude. Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelors degree in business, accounting or a related field, masters degree desirable, CPA required and at least ten (10) years of relevant experience including the oversight of an organization’s financial and accounting functions or a combination of education and experience that would provide for the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Physical Requirements: Work is generally performed in an office setting, but may be required to work in other settings conducive to performing the tasks required to complete assignments.
