Job Description:

The National Association of Letter Carriers, an AFL-CIO affiliated union, representing over 300,000 members is seeking a legislative and political coordinator for their national field program.The position would be based in Washington, DC and would require periods of travel.

Responsibilities include:

• Ability to sustain and strengthen NALC field program
  
• Capability to take on a leadership role on both issue and political campaigns; ability to successfully motivate a team
  
• Coordinating membership’s grassroots mobilization efforts
  
• Formulating and executing trainings to national, regional, and state leadership on NALC’s legislative and political agenda
  
• Assisting in the monitoring of legislative and regulatory activities at the state and federal level under the direction of the department director
  
  

To qualify, applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership qualities, an aptitude for public speaking, and ability to multi-task.  Candidates must be able to work in a team dynamic to achieve department goals.  Lastly, to be considered for the position you must have received a Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution.
