Founded in 2002, Young Workers United is the nation’s first worker center for young workers. We’re committed to building a multi-racial, worker-led organization that unites U.S. born and immigrant workers from restaurants, stores and campuses.  Our goal is to raise standards in the low-wage service sector through workplace organizing, policy campaigns, and education. Some of our accomplishments include winning the 2nd highest minimum wage in the U.S., collecting over half a million dollars in back wages for workers and creating and passing the first paid sick leave legislation in the nation. Young Workers United staff work in a collective.
