EDUCATION & TRAINING COORDINATOR-STAFF DEVELOPMENT

We have over 200 staff covering 4 counties in the LA region.

We are seeking a highly skilled educator to help develop and assist with cutting edge, progressive training programs for staff development.  As the Education & Training Coordinator for Staff Development, you will be working with the top leaders of the union implementing innovative training strategies. You will be responsible for developing curriculum for Local 721 staff training programs, overseeing the production of materials for trainings, working with the Field Division Directors on staff development plans, and working with our field staff on the development of customized leadership development programs. This position will have great impact on the future growth and development of our union.

The qualified candidate will have 2-5 years experience in labor education or other adult education jobs-including significant experience in developing curricula and conducting trainings, and 4 or more years experience working in labor or community organizing sectors. This individual must be able to work independently, be willing to work long and irregular hours and participate in union activities.  Other qualifications include the ability to build effective relationships and lead staff in the organization, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prior experience in organizing within the labor movement is highly desirable.

Salary range $70,000-$80,000 (annual, paid bi-weekly) with fully paid benefit package including medical, dental, and a generous life insurance plans.
