ANNOUNCEMENT #P-575UJ Position: Regional UniServ Staff – Regional Resource Center, Region 1 Location: Foster City RRC (333 Hatch Drive Foster City, CA 94404) Unit Description and/or Conditions Unique to Assignment The Foster City Regional Resource Center (RRC) is located approximately five miles from CTA Headquarters and is adjacent to the Region 1 office. The office houses three field staff, the Region 1 organizers, the Region 1 Political Organizer, an IPD staff person and a NODD staff person. The RRC includes 21 locals including the United Educators of San Francisco (UESF) and a county office of education. UESF is a merged local, affiliated with both CTA/NEA and CFT/AFT. The membership in these chapters ranges from 20 members to over 5000 members. The districts are located in San Mateo and San Francisco counties and range from wealthy basic aid districts to districts with serious financial problems. The needs of the local chapters are equally diverse and require staff with strong bargaining, grievance processing and organizing skills. The area offers excellent cultural activities of all types and is within driving distance to many respected colleges, universities and community colleges. The housing prices remain relatively high.
