Strategic Researcher

Position Title: Strategic Researcher
Department: Administration
Supervisor’s Title: Chief of Staff
Status: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY
The Strategic Researcher will be part of a team of professionals that works to empower nurses and healthcare professionals to advocate for themselves, their patients, their families, and their communities.

This position will conduct research and provide analytic support for the collective bargaining program and other ONA priorities. They will provide support in the identification, development, and advancement of campaigns and initiatives that maximize the power of nurses and healthcare workers at the bargaining table, increases ONA representation of our members, and helps move policy at the State to advance the vision of ONA members.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business, Health Policy, or other related Social Science discipline is required. Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years, with 6+years preferred.

  • Experience researching and analyzing employer, industry, and government data. Prior experience with legislative/regulatory research and financial analysis is strongly desired.
  • Extensive experience with advanced research techniques, including computerized information-gathering. Mastery of complex computer applications and extensive mathematical and computational skills are strongly desired.
  • Professional work experience with labor unions is highly desired, but not required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This is a full time, exempt position. The salary is based on applicable years of experience applied to the wage scale outlined in the union staff ’s collective bargaining agreement.

ONA offers an annual starting salary range of $75,726 to 109,219 depending on experience.

ONA also offers an exceptional benefits package including employer contributions (90%) to medical, dental and vision premiums, as well as employer paid long and short-term disability and life insurance. Opportunity to enroll in 401K plan after 6 months of employment which includes a 3% employer contribution, with additional longevity contributions after 5 years. Union members are also enrolled in a union pension plan. Annual PTO is 25 vacation days, 8 personal days and 12 sick leave days.
