Part-time Organizer

Based in Boston, MA or Washington, DC

Labor for Our Revolution is a network of national, regional, local unions, other workers' organizations and labor activists engaged in campaigns to support workers' rights, protect and promote collective bargaining, organize the unorganized, and contribute to building a broader movement for social and economic justice.

The network is closely affiliated to Our Revolution, a national organization reclaiming democracy by harnessing the transformative energy of the "political revolution" to make our political and economic systems more responsive to the needs of working families.

The organizer's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Coordinate and convene monthly Labor for Our Revolution conference calls and staff national meeting(s).
  • Recruiting new local and national union affiliates
  • Serve as liaison between Labor for Our Revolution and Our Revolution; work with Our Revolution to build union member participation in OR groups and new groups
  • Maintain and use the Action Network email and database to communicate with Labor for Our Revolution affiliates and individual supporters
  • Coordinate rapid response campaigns around strikes, organizing campaigns or other issues relevant to the labor movement
  • Work to involve members in issue campaigns like Medicare for All, Fair Trade, Investment in Infrastructure, Free Higher Education, etc.   
  • Coordinate Our Revolution National and L4OR to increase labor solidarity among Our Revolution groups and members
  • Work with Our Revolution National to support electoral and referendum campaigns

Candidates should have some experience working in the labor movement, be familiar with Action Network or other membership communications systems, and have good writing skills. Salary is $25 an hour or commensurate with experience. Position based in Boston, MA or Washington, DC.
