National Federation of Federal Employees

Paid Internship

Based in Washington, DC

The National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE-IAM, AFL-CIO), a federal employee labor union, is seeking a qualified Intern who will directly contribute to the mission of the oldest federal union in the United States. Interns work directly for the Executive Director and are responsible for legal, legislation, media and public policy initiatives.

Experiences will include writing professional correspondence to congressional and executive branch stakeholders, in-person congressional relationship building, creating content for membership and media releases, conducting light legal research, and interacting with the heads of other unions and coalitions.

Applicants must have a natural desire to advance labor causes and believe in good government initiatives. NFFE is a very forward-thinking organization. This is a high-profile position in a small office. A sense of humor is a must along with the ability to work independently when required.
