Northeast Region Organizing Project

Based in Boston, MA

The Northeast Region Organizing Project seeks an Organizer who wants to join the fight to preserve and strengthen quality public education and bring stability to education employees’ working conditions. This organizing project is a joint venture between the American Federation of Teachers and the Boston Teachers Union.

These are full-time positions to work, primarily, on new organizing campaigns. Organizers are responsible for a variety of aspects of a campaign including building relationships with workers, mobilizing parents and community members, and for recruiting and sustaining motivation of organizing committee members and activists. Union organizing experience preferred.


  • Dedicated to social and economic justice, and public education
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Willingness to work long and irregular hours
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team
  • Experience working in community, student, labor, or environmental activism
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile in good working order

Salary and Benefits:
Competitive salary and benefits set by collective bargaining agreement.
