Data Coordinator

Based in Detroit, MI

SEIU Healthcare Michigan is seeking a Data Team Coordinator that is forward thinking, a natural leader and can hit the ground running. This is an exciting and demanding time for our organization and offers a unique opportunity to reimagine how data drives strategy and builds member strength.


  • Administer the union’s database, managing all member profiles & user accounts—ensuring accurate, complete, and timely handling of all data in and out.
  • Regularly create and generate metric based reports from the union’s database to provide guidance for the overall union direction or to address specific issues
  • Perform independent research requests of various depth as needed
  • Regularly communicate with employers about the status of union members, coordinating the collection of recent and accurate information
  • Work with leadership to create new systems and processes to better track membership and engagement.
  • Assist with training database users of various proficiency in individualized training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Experience with a front-end enterprise database such as Unionware, Microsoft Access, or an equivalent software.
  • Experience with researching large corporations and analyzing complex financial documents.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to condense large datasets into easily understood trends and suggestions.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
  • General technical proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new technology.
  • Strong commitment to the American labor movement.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to work long and extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel when needed for special events or trainings.
