Make-up Artists and Hair Stylists, Local 798 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) is seeking to fill the following position Temporary from Mid Jan 2018 to Mid-April 2018 in our mid-town Manhattan location:

Member Services /Administrative Assistant

Duties & Responsibilities
(This is a general summary. It does not explain in detail every single duty performed)

  • Provide professional administrative support to the entire office
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
  • Organize and maintain files; scan documents.
  • Assist with updating of website and social media
  • Generate and send bulk emails using Mail Chimp
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
  • Assist members with accounts: posting payment, work
  • Data entry

Please have the following skills:

  • Consistently professional and articulate telephone manner. Ability to deal with people diplomatically and tactfully.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Take initiative in organizing and alleviating workload of supervisors and following up on pending matters.
  • Proficiency in PC software applications such as MS Word and Excel. Experience with Google Mail, Calendars, Mail Chimp, and membership databases a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong writing, spelling, proofreading and typing skills. Be able to write and format a business letter, mail merge a document, create and manipulate a spreadsheet.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with a motivation to excel in position.
  • Must be diplomatic and discreet in sensitive and confidential matters
  • Ability to retrieve and relate information accurately and promptly
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks with multiple deadlines.
  • Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful strategic and collaborative relations with people from all backgrounds both internally and externally.
  • Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor.
  • Hold yourself accountable for a high level of performance integrity.
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by Local 798’s sole discretion.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma, administrative assistant and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary
$17.00 an hour. Services required From Mid-Jan 2018 to Mid-April 2018.
