Declarations Coordinator

The Dues Department of the Writers Guild of America, West, is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Declarations Coordinator. This position is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position with excellent comprehensive benefits package. The salary range is $50,000 - $68,000 annualized, commensurate with experience.

Under the direction of the Dues Administrator, this position is responsible for the department’s knowledge base for interpreting the Minimum Basic Agreement’s provisions about the duesability of writer earnings, interpreting writer specific contract data, and tracking department progress with data entry for declarations. The Declarations Coordinator focuses on ensuring that declarations are correctly reported and entered into the Dues system, and assists staff and members with complex declarations.

The Dues Department is responsible for administering the collection and processing of dues and assessments from members in order to generate and maintain operating income for the Guild, enforces dues obligations across the board, and pursues members who are delinquent in the payment of dues.


  1. Provide deep expertise in MBA and contract interpretation, especially Article 14
  2. Resolve complex declaration issues
  3. Create declaration forms and police reporting
  4. Resolve duesability/minimum questions for members and Guild staff
  5. Input declarations (online, fax and mailed)
  6. Investigate and resolve unknown Company issues (work with Signatories Department)
  7. Backup Member Support positions
  8. Report on declarations data entry backlog, request assistance as needed
  9. Generate declaration forms at start of quarter and as needed
  10. Assist with “ND push”
  11. Update documentation as needed for declarations knowledge (schedule of minimums, show exceptions, etc.)
  12. Perform other duties as required


  1. Requires ability to quickly gain in-depth knowledge of all dues-related provisions of the Guild MBA and Constitution
  2. Requires strong analytical skills to understand and interpret complicated contracts
  3. Requires ability to transfer knowledge to other department staff
  4. Must have excellent phone and email skills
  5. Requires ability to create and use Excel spreadsheets
  6. Must be able to handle confidential matters in a courteous and professional manner and manage high-volume, detail-oriented simultaneous projects with speed and accuracy, and with minimum supervision
