The Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR) is a nationwide, progressive, member-driven healthcare union representing over 15,000 resident physicians. We fight to protect the workplace rights of doctors-in-training and improve the delivery of quality health care. The CIR Benefits Plan is comprised of three separate funds that provide health, legal, and educational benefits to the resident physicians.

Job Description:
The Data Management & Reporting Specialist is a full-time salaried position that is responsible for maintaining data integrity within the CIR/CIR Benefits Plan major database information systems and generating reports for effective outreach to existing members and potential members. The Specialist will also serve as the lead developer for web and mobile applications to enhance the work of the union. The Specialist analyzes information within the existing databases and plans and executes system improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain data integrity and system functionality within database systems.
  • Develop workflow processes which streamline information between database systems, departments, and projects.
  • Generate reports and analysis to enhance member engagement and outreach to potential members.
  • Interact with applicable vendors, organizations, and companies involved in maintaining database systems.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and correct database system issues which interfere with workflow, user adoption, and productivity.
  • Develop metrics and measurements for database system effectiveness.
  • Perform weekly, quarterly and monthly reviews of benefits deductions to ensure accuracy.
  • Work with the Director of Database Systems to develop an iOS and Android application to meet the needs of CIR and Benefits Fund.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 year BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of database management experience. Professional designations and certifications preferred.
  • Experience with iOS and android application development is preferred.
  • Experience with JavaScript, Python, or other languages are a plus.
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills in a wide range of applications including MS Excel.
  • Experience in a customer focused or employee focused role performing complex transactions including corrections, data reconciliation, customer issue analysis, issue resolutions, documentation and reporting.
  • Should possess strong problem solving, professional and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Customer Relations Management (CRM) Database, Benefits Administrations Systems preferred.
  • Detailed functional knowledge of the Microsoft office suite of programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting, think critically, problem solve, prioritize multiple tasks and work well in a team environment, meet deadlines and handle potentially difficult situations in a professional and courteous manner.
