The preferred location for this position is in one of our hub offices in Bellingham, WA, San Francisco, CA, or Vancouver, BC, but we’ll consider outstanding candidates in remote locations.

The Position
The Forest Campaigner will be responsible for carrying out our forestry campaign which pressures some of North America’s largest brands to change their paper procurement policies and champion forest protection with their suppliers. Our forest campaign also works with stakeholders in Canada to achieve large-scale forest protection agreements. This is a full-time salaried position with excellent benefits - the salary range is $50-60k.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute market-based campaign strategies that support forest protection. Work with senior staff to lead direct communications and negotiations with corporate targets.
  • Conduct, direct or support industry and issue-focused research to be used for crafting campaign strategy.
  • Develop plan to recruit and engage supporters online and offline
  • Coordinate activities with partner organizations and allies
  • Work with the Digital Department to craft compelling external content and publicly communicate the campaign’s positions to the media.


  • 3-5 years of campaign experience. Direct experience with corporate/markets campaigns strongly preferred.
  • Independent and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated success managing volunteers, identifying organizational needs, and problem solving.
  • Able to generate and respond to media inquires
  • Highly organized, flexible, creative, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and ever changing environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and social media communication skills.
  • Knowledge of forestry issues a plus.
