About the Position
Hiring immediately,
Full-time Communications Coordinator to support SEIU Local 105 based in Denver and Aurora, Colorado. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Working independently and as part of a team to develop and implement strategic messages.
  • Developing Internal and External communications plans for bargaining and representation campaigns.
  • Organizing political communication campaigns.
  • Designing, writing and editing a wide range of materials and methods of delivery for a variety of audiences.
  • Website development and maintenance using a Content Management System.
  • Desktop publishing of printed materials including newsletters, flyers and direct mail.
  • Supporting legislative and political efforts.
  • Experience training and developing spokespeople and serving as an on the record spokesperson.

Qualifications and Experience

Required skills:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of communications experience, with strong graphic design skills
  • Commitment to economic and social justice.
  • Ability to multi-task and to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to design and implement programming.
  • Superior writing and editing skills.
  • Basic web editing and excellent design skills, including experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Training/developing spokespeople and with social media needed.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with InDesign, html editing experience.
  • Building relationships with the media and pitching stories.
  • Ability to speak and write Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with WordPress and Blue State Digital.
  • Familiarity with unions, the progressive political movement and/or healthcare policy is preferred.
