Digital Analyst

The Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters represents over 48,000 union carpenters in Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado. We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Digital Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate is curious, creative, and committed to the principles of trade unionism.

Recent grads and professionals are encouraged to apply. Experience in union and community organizing and political campaigning is preferred but not required. The position is designed to be temporary/probationary (6 months) with the potential for long-term employment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Digital Campaigns: plan and implement digital campaigns to support the Council’s work in collective bargaining, investigations and advocacy; evaluate and analyze campaign effectiveness; make recommendations to improve digital campaign strategy
  • Investigate, organize, and analyze data related to working conditions in the construction industry
  • Support organizing campaigns using traditional and non-traditional methods
  • Work closely with the data and research teams to support organizing and communications goals
  • Build the Council’s membership and support base; create digital engagement plans to support the Council’s campaigns
  • Train Council staff, leaders, and activists on skills, strategies, and best practices for using digital organizing tools; develop training materials and documentation for digital tools
  • Support and assist Council staff, leaders, and activists who are using the association's digital organizing tools in the field; provide guidance on using digital tools
  • Provide support to the Database Manager relating to Council operations

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; relevant experience and proven results will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Experience using social media and email for advocacy required
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks and complete them in a timely manner with minimal supervision required
  • Experience in or knowledge of labor, community, or political organizing required
  • Expertise with using professional social media management software, including tools for managing and administering social media accounts, and analyzing social media analytics preferred
  • Experience with digital design tools such as Photoshop and others preferred
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques and experience with data analysis tools are highly preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with the Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Access required
  • Familiarity with database software and SQL (Structured Query Language) very strongly desired
  • Willingness to learn and strong interest in data analytics required
