Position Title: Administrative Assistant
Reports To: Executive Director, Labor’s Community Service Agency

Status and Duration:

  • Part time (20 hrs. per week), Permanent
  • Flexible schedule negotiable, Some nights/weekends required

Starting Salary: $20.69 hourly, DOE

This position is represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union, Local 11 and offers comprehensive Union negotiated benefits, including:

Labor’s Community Service Agency (LCSA) is seeking a responsible, experienced, and detail-oriented self-starter to provide administrative, secretarial, and front office services. Qualified candidates must work well with the public and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge and experience with non-profits, workforce development programs, and/or organized labor preferred. Persons of Color encouraged to apply.

Position Qualifications and Job Duties

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and familiarity of organized labor and labor Unions, United Way and its programs, and workforce development systems; interact and work with representatives of these entities at a variety of levels, fostering goodwill.
  • Facilitate intake of the social service programs. Employ the necessary soft skills to ensure kindness and empathy, and problem solving.
  • Maintain Access database of clients and volunteers.
  • Maintain an active social media & web presence for the agency.
  • Attend meetings, serving as recording agent; transcribe meeting minutes.
  • Maintain official records and documents and assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • One must possess the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. while occasionally navigating stairs. This physical demand will be a regular occurrence during the months of October – December.
  • Assist with event planning, coordination and oversight as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Exercise a high level of communication and organizational skills.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the agency.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite.
