Minnesotans for a Fair Economy is a coalition of labor, community and faith-based organizations that have come together to advocate for economic and racial justice. We have achieved major victories over the last 6 years through a combination of corporate campaigns, electoral and policy work.

We are seeking a new team member with strong data collection and analysis skills. This person will collect and distribute accurate and timely information and contribute to data-driven decision-making to set and reach organizational goals. Strong candidates will have experience creating and managing databases, writing reports, researching corporations, and analyzing information to understand the vast social-political-corporate arena of Minnesota.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and manage databases including, but not limited to Excel, Access and VAN;
  • Develop new, technology-driven ways to share data with team members and the public;
  • Collect and analyze data from both public and private sources;
  • Provide data driven, strategic guidance to achieve organizational and campaign goals;
  • Present research findings in both written and oral reports;
  • Respond accurately and timely to information requests;
  • Research corporations to understand their profit centers, decision-making structures, and political-economic relationships.


  • Strong commitment to the labor movement and socio-economic justice;
  • Proven ability to solve problems and simplify complex ideas;
  • Eagerness to learn and disseminate new ideas and information;
  • Understanding of collective bargaining and/or community organizing campaigns;
  • Proficient writing, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Capable of working individually and with a team to meet goals and deadlines;
  • Willingness to work with our members and staff who represent an array of races, cultures, religions and backgrounds;
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and long, irregular hours and occasional travel.

Bonus Skills

  • Proficiency in a second language;
  • Data mining and geo-mapping;
  • Experience with policy research in Minnesota;
  • Labor, community or campaign organizing experience.

Pay and Benefits
This position begins in June 2017. Pay is based on experience. Healthcare and other benefits included. Located in Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metropolitan Area, Minnesota.
