Minnesotans for a Fair Economy is a coalition of labor, community and faith-based organizations that have come together to advocate for economic and racial justice. We have achieved major victories over the last 6 years through a combination of corporate campaigns, electoral and policy work.

We are seeking a new team member with strong educational, training, adult learning, and political formation skills. This educator position will coordinate a table of organizations that are dedicated to developing the political formation of their respective memberships. This includes developing shared educational curriculums and doing needs assessments and strategic consulting on educational programs within very different organizations. This person will help bridge work between community and labor organizing around concrete issue cuts, and build long term progressive power in Minnesota.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work one to one with organizations to develop educational materials for their memberships;
  • Lead group trainings for trainers;
  • Help develop shared curriculum across different organizations;
  • Coordinate a broad array of existing trainings (skills, political formation, etc.);
  • Understand and have experience with popular education pedagogy;
  • Must have a strong grasp of material and educational approaches to engaging racism, sexism and corporate power.


  • Strong commitment to the labor movement and socio-economic justice;
  • Proven ability to solve problems and simplify complex ideas;
  • Eagerness to learn and disseminate new ideas and information;
  • Understanding of collective bargaining and/or community organizing campaigns;
  • Capable of working individually and with a team to meet goals and deadlines;
  • Willingness to work with a team who represent an array of races, cultures, religions and backgrounds;
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and long, irregular hours and occasional travel.

Bonus Skills

  • Proficiency in a second language;
  • Labor, community or campaign organizing experience.

Pay and Benefits
This position begins in June 2017. Pay is based on experience. Healthcare and other benefits included. Located in Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metropolitan Area, Minnesota.
