Communications/Digital Organizer

Minnesotans for a Fair Economy is a coalition of labor, community and faith-based organizations that have come together to advocate for economic and racial justice. We have achieved major victories over the last 6 years through a combination of corporate campaigns, electoral and policy work.

We are seeking a new team member with strong social media and traditional media communications skills. This person will work with MFE member organizations to help push their message to members of organizations, decision-makers, and the general public using social media and traditional media.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work one to one with organizations to develop communications materials for their memberships, campaign targets and the public;
  • Help coordinate social media work across organizations;
  • Develop digital strategy and run social media campaigns;
  • Manage email lists;
  • Write press releases and use other tools to push organization messages to traditional media;
  • Use communications to help communicate with key decision-makers.


  • Strong social media skills;
  • Strong computer skills including with Word, Excel and email programs;
  • Eagerness to learn and disseminate new ideas and information;
  • Understanding of collective bargaining and/or community organizing campaigns;
  • Capable of working individually and with a team to meet goals and deadlines;
  • Willingness to work with a team who represent an array of races, cultures, religions and backgrounds;
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and long, irregular hours and occasional travel.

Bonus Skills

  • Proficiency in a second language;
  • Labor, community or campaign organizing experience.

Pay and Benefits
This position begins in June 2017. Pay is based on experience. Healthcare and other benefits included. Located in Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metropolitan Area, Minnesota.
