The Illinois Education Association-NEA is seeking qualified candidates to fill the above-named position on the IEA-NEA professional staff.

INTERVIEWS: Selected candidates will be invited to interview at a location determined by the IEA-NEA.

STAFF RELATIONSHIP: Responsible to the Director of Program Development, or his/her designee.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develops, implements and modifies ongoing operation of research computer systems and programs.
  2. Conducts financial analysis of school districts.
  3. Plans and presents research training workshops for IEA-NEA leaders and staff.
  4. Processes collective bargaining contract data.
  5. Coordinates and analyzes IEA-NEA surveys.
  6. Provides research services to other IEA-NEA departments.
  7. Supervises associate staff, i.e., initial employment recommendation, evaluation and remediation.
  8. Makes recommendations to the Department Director for the development of the department budget and takes necessary action required to operate within the approved IEA-NEA budget.
  9. Demonstrates a high degree of interpersonal skills. Interacts appropriately with staff, members, and the general public.
  10. Performs other appropriate duties as directed by assigned management staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; teaching experience desirable.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of school systems, school finance and school law.
  • Previous, documented research experience preferred.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills and the capacity to deal with members, potential members, IEA-NEA leadership and staff is essential.
  • Willingness to spend considerable time traveling throughout the state to assist members at the local and region level. 
  • Ability to write and deliver high quality professional presentations to groups of all sizes on a variety of topics.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with computer systems required; advanced technology skills preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: In conformance with the IEA-NEA/IEASO Professional Staff Agreement.
