Position Description:
TTD is looking for a communications fellow who can manage and grow our digital presence and provide general communications support to our policy advocacy. The ideal entry-level candidate is a creative self-starter who has excellent writing  skills and a strong work ethic. S/he has professional aspirations in the field of digital and conventional media and communications, has working knowledge of social media platforms, and would like to work on transportation and labor issues.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, editing, curating, designing and posting compelling content for TTD’s website and social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter;
  • Tracking social media and web analytics;
  • Assisting TTD’s communications specialist with website content, other writing and e-blasts;
  • Aggregating news about transportation policy and labor issues;
  • Posting daily news clips; and
  • Assisting with special projects, including PowerPoints, video editing and research, as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent writing skills and experience with social media platforms;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
  • Experience with WordPress, Adobe Photoshop or similar design-related program, Blue State Digital and video editing software a plus.

Requirements and Compensation:

  • 6-month commitment
  • Flexibility in hours worked but candidate must commit to at least 25 hours a week
  • $16/hour with employer-paid health care and transit commuter benefit
  • Based in TTD’s offices in downtown Washington, DC
  • Available by early June
