Position: Seeking a highly motivated individual skilled in all facets of communications for a small corporation. Requires the ability to complete a variety of tasks listed below with a small team. This is a full time position that offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement a strategic communications plan.
  • Set communications strategy and execute programs to deliver communications strategy throughout the organization
  • In consultation with management, craft the organization’s message and provide message discipline through regular communications, newsletters, marketing materials, media etc.
  • Develop and implement media strategies that will increase outreach to the Taft-Hartley employee benefit fund market
  • Oversee all aspects of speechwriting for team and prepare staff for interviews and appearances
  • Create materials to support the marketing strategic plan
  • Responsible for logistical support of several marketing events a year
  • Manage contact databases
  • Organize and maintain corporate and regulatory files
  • Update and maintain websites
  • Work with consultants, printers, videographers and photographers as needed on specific projects


  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in strategic communications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams and implement strategic plans
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and creative skills
  • Excellent writing and editing skills- marketing materials, press releases, newsletters, brochures among other things
  • High level of individual motivation
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities and projects effectively
  • Familiarity with unions and pension plans valued
  • Database management preferred
  • Bachelor of Arts in relevant field required
