Organization Summary: SEIU 775, Washington State’s and Montana’s long term care union, seeks a Research and Data Analyst to help fulfill our mission to unite all long-term care workers, improve the lives of working families and lead the way to a more just and humane society.

Reports to: Research Manager

Location: Based out of SEIU 775 HQ in Seattle, WA

Position Summary: The Research and Data Analyst is part of a team of researchers that work on policy, corporate, and market research projects.  The Research and Data Analyst should be specialist in analyzing large sets of data, but will also be expected to perform other types of work of the research team, such as drafting policy memos or costing collective bargaining agreements.

The duties of the Research & Data Analyst include:

  • Analyzing trends from large data sets in support of policy or organizing campaigns
  • Calculating costs of collective bargaining agreements or policy proposals
  • Using economic data to build support for union initiatives
  • Drafting internal and external memos or reports
  • Presenting materials to union leadership and to allies as needed
  • Working on union or political organizing campaigns as needed


  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a field such as economics, business, public policy, or a social science; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven commitment to progressive social change and to building worker power.
  • Strong analytical skills, with advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and data programs, particularly SQL
  • Solid writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well and creatively under tight deadlines, in a team environment and independently.
  • Willingness to work long and irregular hours when needed to meet campaign demands.
  • Some travel required.
